fixing-up-the-house-for-airbnb-renters
This entry is part [part not set] of 33 in the series Italy

The Winters family is heading to Italy — in four flippin’ days!

We are soooo dang excited. Well, at least Scott and I are excited. The kids really aren’t convinced that this is a good idea. 😆🤷‍♀️

My first blog post in this series tells you about how we were looking for a renter. The good news is, we found one!

For the past many months, we’ve been fixing up the house and getting it ready.

Refinishing picnic table and benches. . .
Fixing a drywall patch!

Last weekend, we even roped some family members in by saying we were having a “work party” — everything sounds more fun when you add party to the end of it! But they helped us a TON and we’re super grateful.

We’ll be working up to the moment we’re ready to leave, but it’s oh-so-worth-it. Not just for the incredible summer we’ll have, but also for how it’s changing our life at home.

The one thing I keep thinking about while we do all this is — why don’t we do this for ourselves? The pressure of fixing the house up for a renter has motivated us to get more done in 3 months than we have in several years! Can you relate to that? I bet you can.

This summer is going to be amazing, but I’m also going to love coming home to a place where we’ve worked so hard to get things into shape. It’s not perfect, but it’s home!

What kind of projects do you have on your fix-it list? Tell me in the comments!

Molly
